Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick

If there is climate change, which there likely is, a bit, and we should be very happy. Lots of error is inserted into any measurements for many reasons. Most certainly, no one can really measure world-wide climate change, as they have trouble predicting tomorrow’s weather!
Historically, warmer times in climate cycles have been positive for humans, e.g. the Renaissance in Europe. If food and shelter is available, people can accomplish other things.
I am happy, as warmer temperatures in cold Canada are most welcome. The weather/climate is warmer than when I was a child in the 1960’s. After all, Canada was totally covered in very thick ice a few centuries ago, circa 1100 B.C., with only a narrow strip on the west coast open to human traffic.
Over 70% of forest fires are caused by stupid and/or naive humans, wandering into nice areas without proper gear and not being careful. Does the entry-to-Canada card carry any advice on how not to trash our country and how to behave carefully in our many wilderness areas? Search & Rescue in North Vancouver regularly finds lost idiots (Canadians and tourists, alike) in shorts, tennis shoes and without food or water.
Other disasters are caused by municipal and provincial governments, nation-wide, authorizing housing on well-known historical flood plains, fire zones and unstable cliffs, with nice views, of course.
Imagine if Canada and Russia were a few degrees warmer, there would be vast new areas of agricultural land available and possibly two crops a year. That would be good. And if New York City were flooded, oh well…
But of course it isn’t happening any time soon.
Harvard philosopher Harvey Mansfield made the observation that environmentalism is “school prayer for liberals.”
The “climate deniers” is certainly a clever way to demonize people.
In Canada we also have “residential school deniers”.
Some people might be dual denialists.
Add in some mis and dis information and the government can probably put these atheists in jail for life – right after they take all of their wealth.
I contend that it is Government that is the source of misinformation, as your twoo examples illustrate, both lies put out by government.

“Mark Twain was right when he observed that it is not so much the things we don’t know that get us into trouble. Rather, the mischief is caused by things that we “do know that ain’t so.””
Yes, re this whole eco-craze lately, the idea that ‘climate change’ is caused by humans and we can reverse/change course – it ain’t so. It’s bonkers, yet everyone goes berserk about it: politicians, young generation, all media. Unfortunately us as a collective we are very stupid, we function as a herd. If someone says nice things, no matter if illogical/proven otherwise by history/science/facts – if it ‘feels’ ok, must be ok.
Example: Marxism. We have more than 100 years of history showing that every attempt of socialism failed. All ended up bad, in all aspects (human rights, economically, arts, progress in general), yet 80-90% of young generation/students nowadays are still Marxist/Socialist.
My prediction: it will take more than 100 years to shake this whole idiocy that we can save the planet by going horse-and-buggy. Probably never actually.
You got to take account of this, the history is not taught as history, it is propaganda.
What is suitable to the ruling class and their ideology is obviously taught, what is not, is not.
You have recent generations that know nothing of the bloody history of socialists/fascists and communists.
The generations were and are fed warm and fuzzy stories that if things look bad now, they will be better tomorrow when the variety of ‘ists are going to create a utopia using books 1984 and The Brave New World as the handbooks.
They will also tell them or omit to tell them that the climate is a process that started when the planet was created and will continue until the supernova happens, that will be a massive change in the climate. The scientologists will proclaim that it was the carbon …. heh.
The second oldest profession, profiteering from falsely claiming to have the ability to predict or change future climate events.
Do Captain Planet and the Planeteers have cool uniforms made of nylon, spandex, and other high-tech plastics? Bitchin’!!!
“His new coalition includes a range of people, from actors, such as Robert Redford, to activists like Jane Goodall..”
You really wanna see those people in spandex?
They have commercials geared towards kids to rope the kids into an environmental group..”Earth Rangers” or something. Join up and help to save the planet. Literally….that is the message.
No wonder mental health issues are out so high. Impressionable kids thinking the planet is burning because I’m using a freaking plastic straw.
When the truth about the jabs come out, I hope all the environmentalists and their bloodlines reap the unlubed dildo of consequences….
Stateless, “the unlubed dildo of consequences….” How eloquent! ++++
Thanks.
Sadly, not mine but I shall use it as though it was….
