  2. I don’t know why Israel doesn’t tether a radar balloon . Networked with ground based auto load, auto fire 155mm gun on power traverse, computer air, 155mm HE rounds should be returned to the calculated launch site in seconds.
    Naturally HAMAS, or the next reiteration name champions would set up with delay launch. But that’s the Pali’s problem. No rocket launch, no 155mm gift.

      Can’t you get it through your thick skull That Hamas does not want peace or a separate Palastinian state. Hamas wants Israel obliterated and all middle eastern Jews expelled or eradicated. And the worst is that the majority of the Arab Muslim population in Gaza supports the Hamas death cult. Calling the Israeli retaliation “genocide” merely shows how rabidly partisan you are. Israel started small but the surrounding Arab states were determined to strangle Israel in the cradle. Since then Israel has fought a number of wars for survival. At the same time they have built a prosperous democracy in a sea of dysfunctional Arab states. Israel has participated in a number of peace talks in which separate Palestinian statehood was offered but rejected by the all-or-nothing Palestinian negotiators. Israel through its shining success has earned the right to exist. Palestinian Arabs through their slavering jew hatred, their contempt for their own people, their obsession with the destruction of Israel, have squandered whatever credibility they may once have had. Finally, ask the 20% Muslim component of the population of Israel where they would prefer to live.

          I can’t say if Bibi, or the Israeli cabinet are war criminals as you claim, but I do know who started this war in the most wretched and unspeakable manner. Israel DID NOT incur into Gaza to slaughter innocent civilians. That was Hamas, and they did it with the full support of the people living in Gaza.

          I have always spoken out against genocide no matter how wretched the population becomes. I have always been leery of the tale of Sodom and Gomorrah, to tell you the truth, but in the case of the Palestinians in Gaza, I will say this: If there ever was a population that deserves to be wiped off the face of the earth, it’s these hate-filled fanatics. Not Israel.

            Not just the support…the ‘citizens’ of Gaza were actually *involved* in the massacre and subsequent kidnappings. Men, women AND children entered Israel along with Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and actively participated…the men by raping women and desecrating corpses, the women and children by stealing everything they could get their hands on to take back to Gaza. A disgusting display by people who are now moaning and wailing about the destruction of their homes despite the fact that Israel still does everything possible to make sure that those ‘innocent civilians’ are safely out of the way before they conduct their strikes against Hamas personnel and infrastructure (which is deliberately built in civilian areas in order to assure maximum damage to residential areas and as many civilian casualties as possible).

Or the US or the Western Alliance.

It is an occupying force that is killing innocent civilians for the capital crime of being Palestinian. I happened upon a video of a Jewish Rabbi whose son went to study in Israel. The son saw a young boy with a cut hand and the boy was crying in pain. The Rabbi’s son went to a policeman and asked what could be done to help the boy. The police told him that nothing was to be done because the boy was Palestinian. That is evil. I would say the same of any one who refuses aid based on race or religion or gender or….. Humans are human and we as fellow humans must help other humans to be the best they can as we seek their wellbeing. No more racism. PERIOD! BTW I say the same of any Palestinian who treats a Jew badly. We are all humans here. We have to do a much better job of making peace rather than war. We have got the war part down pat. Time for Peace.

However as the nephew of a man who helped liberate Bergen Belsen extermination camps and having heard his accounts of the horrors he witnessed I am all to familiar with the evils of nazism. However nazism is the dehumanization of fellow humans justifying their death or extermination. Both Israel and Hamas is guilty of that thought. Notice I did not say the average Jew or the average Palestinian but rather their leaders. That completely aside one has to ask where this conflict began and no it did not begin on Oct 7. Much much earlier Israel decided to go against its UN charter and expand into land it did not own and did not pay for. It simply took it and ran the people who had lived there for millenia out of their homes and put them in a concentration camp called Gaza. Hauntingly similar to the camp my uncle fought to free. Israel then went farther and going against its own laws and occupied land it did not own. The ‘settlers’ simply shot anyone who said no to them. So let’s lay aside our religions for a moment and ask ourselves what is evil. What is evil? Is it the genocide we see going on in Gaza? Is it the Oct 7 raid where more Jews were killed by Israel than by Hamas? Is it the taking of hostages by Israel during the ceasefire when hostages were being exchanged? What is evil in your mind?

So Israel knew a year in advance that Hamas was planning Oct 7 and was warned by Egypt in September that Hamas was going to raid and some IDf soldiers on Oct 6 warned their superiors that the raid was about to happen. What did Israel do? They ignored the warning and sent the IDF on holidays. How very convenient for Hamas. Why would Israel ignore all those warnings? Incompetence? Bad luck?   6. We’re nearly two months since Hamas’s attack on civilian Israel’s, and during this whole time, the Media has been telling me that Palestinians are different from Hamas. That Palestinians aren’t the same people, that they’re innocent of what Hamas has been doing.
    But yet in this whole time I haven’t heard of any of the following being reported!!!
    1.) Palestinians,,, attacking Hamas soldiers, for the destruction they’ve unleashed on Gaza.
    2.) Palestinians,,, helping to free Israeli hostages that were captured by Hamas.
    3.) Palestinians,,, outing the locations of Hamas leaders, tunnel entrances, command centers.
    4.) Palestinians,,, becrying that Hamas is using them, as human shields.
    5.) Palestinians,,, sympathetic for Hamas killing Israeli civilians, particularly the women and the butchering and beheading of infants.
    6.) Palestinians,,, taking up arms against Hamas, to flush them away from their hospitals and homes.

    If Palestinians are different than Hamas, why haven’t any of the things listed above happened? because if they had happened,,, the Media would have most certainly made it a headline about it.

    1. War has always been brutal but I do not think the populace realized the shear savagery and human costs of the first modern war. The American revolution was long enough ago to be romanticized an the weapons were flintlock muskets and muzzle loaded round shot cannons. Just as in WW1, where the populace thought the boys would be home for Christmas after giving the Kaiser a good hiding, I am sure that many of the Southern populace thought it “all in good fun” to tweak the Yankees and show them that the South would not be pushed around.

      1. Very true. It was even worse in previous centuries when war was very up close and personal. It’s one thing to shoot someone from 1/4 mile away. It’s something very different and traumatic when you have to get up close an stick in a sharp object. And worse still when you have to get his blood and guts on you.

        And limited or no contact with the outside world meant that all foreigners were easily objectified as the essence of evil. I would simply modify your thought that the general populace has never realized the sheer savagery on any war unless they stood directly in the path as helpless peasant to be slaughtered in droves. Very few times has the population been protected from the direct, immediate costs of warfare.

In fairness, Fort Sumter was a forttress fortified against bombardment and occupied by a garrison of trained soldiers equipped to fight back (until they ran out of ammunition and would then surrender with a reasonable expectations of terms that didn’t include their extermination.) Those Hamas rockets are flung in the general direction of populated areas with the intent to kill Jews whether combatants or not, and their extermination is a popular goal of those cheering the launching of the rockets. And no matter how many times Joe the Albertan tells the lie that Israel intends genocide, Israelis wish they didn’t have to spend their blood and treasure fighting Arab neighbours, and Muslims are indoctrinated from the cradle that Jews are the enemies of God and that God wants them to kill Jews, (and if Joe the Albertan isn’t already a Muslim, to kill him, too, if he doesn’t convert. But the Jews first.)

  10. Calling Hamas, militants is like calling the Canadian Army, Liberal militants. Just like the Liberals are the duly elected government of Canada, so too is Hamas the duly and popularly elected government of Gaza. Hamas is Palestine.

      As if the Palestinians need another election, they still support Hamas, and that will be their undoing.

      1. We also have not seen an election on the West Bank either, because the PLO that runs the West Bank know they will lose to Hamas.

        When Hamas takes over, they will take over the PLO Security Forces, and purge them of PLO sympathizers, then use them to eliminate any PLO in the West Bank. Just like they did in Gaza.

        That is why Arafat and Abbas never had elections in the Palestinian West Bank after Hamas was elected in Gaza.

  11. This war is about exploiting Palestinian victimhood for the benefit of the global community. Palestinians got what they voted for and will continue getting it good and hard. The only way the Jihadis can eliminate Israel is by influencing Israel’s international supporters to withdraw support. To the Jihadis, Palestinians are worth no more than sacrificing for such a goal and the greater Arab / Persian / Islamic region agrees. No one in their right mind would want to intervene in Gaza to save the few Palestinians not on side with Hamas. Such intervention would have to come from the west as the ME doesn’t really care about those not interested in Jihad. The state of Israel is not ideal but in contrast to their neighbours, they are still an outpost of (declining) western civilization within the Islamic wastelands.
