Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I was telling my buddy, who grew up in Jamaica, how nice it must have been to have had mangoes and papayas etc.
“Yes, you say that. But I never tasted anything so good in my life as corn-on-the-cob and pancakes with maple syrup when I came here. “
Did you ask your buddy from Jamaica about ice in drinks? True Jamaicans answer – “What? No. Water no get hard, mon.”

How do you spell Laff any way?
CHEEEESSSEE KAKE ? Watching the tribal simpletons enjoy cheeessee kake is like watching planes land Kookiemendookie airport.. Boring A.F…
British kids trying Southern made biscuits and gravy is pretty good as well. Love the “Where has this been all my life!” reactions.
This was very endearing, Kate!!
Personally, I prefer fruit pies (lemon, apple, pumpkin, raspberry) or a French mousse much better for dessert than cheese cake.
Yummy food has always been a fantastic way to share different cultures, through centuries. Noted that these guys assumed that a man had cooked their cheese cake or forgot to take “pronoun lessons” heh heh – oh well …
My best friend in grad school was from Lahore, PK, and I still make her curry, in the way she taught me one weekend. I taught her how to make “steak diane”, being an Albertan.
In Japan, I mastered the art of how to make “sticky rice”, which is infinitely superior to the terrible rice most Canadians and Americans eat. Now, my favourite is brown basmati rice.
In Vancouver, my favourite restaurants are Thai, French, Italian, the better (real) Chinese places and any good fresh fish places, which are numerous.
We’re all tribal people.
i was surprised how old the idea is, and was likely greek , romans being like modern chinese in their borrowing capacity
