  1. Is Denis O’Brien battling modern day slavery and child labor? Of course, that would require some degree of integrity.
    Yes, our supply chains are riddled with “coerced employment” and child labor. I am very skeptical that today’s compliance protocols even come close to containing it, it’s an illusion of enforcement. The compliance industry does create a bunch of nonproductive make work jobs, so there is that.

    1. There is nothing wrong with child labour. Child labour only went away in countries that became rich enough that they didn’t need it. People don’t make children work because they’re mean, they let children work so they don’t starve to death.

        For pitys sake, we are not talking about delivering the local newspaper ads or collecting the grocery carts in the parking lot. Lots of child labor is at the raw materials level where some of the harshest and most dangerous conditions occur.
