  1. And they want Elon Musk to hire illegal immigrants to build space ships. You know, the people too stupid to get a green card?

  2. – and happens all the time, on all pressurised aircraft. Unsure of ANA’s safety reg’s, but these vary from airline to airline, country to country and place to place. I can see it being a major issue on aircraft flying high-altitude.

The saddest tale of violating safety reg’s was that aircraft that took off out of Washington with ice on the wings and crashed onto the bridge, sliding into the Potomac River. Canada has “no tolerance” for frozen precip on flight surfaces – it’s been written in blood, many times.

    1. yep. l remember the rescue. a flight attendant seriously hampered by the cold, a rescuer did the split second calculation, plunged in the freezing water and went out where she was a pulled the lady to safety.
the whole scene induced an observer to invent patent and market a life preserver designed so that if the victim could just get an arm in the hole, when it was lifted ropes would close on the arm secure the victim and away they go by whatever pulling means was being used.

  3. Came across this a few minutes ago. I swear this could be a Babylon Bee headline.

NYPost – Why airplanes crashes are now safer than ever
Oh. I feel better already. Morons.

Best retort in my opinion from “Brit” with an accompanying photo – A little fiery but mostly peaceful place crashes. She meant “plane” but you get the idea.
    Read it all here.

    A modest proposal re: DEI
Consider reversing the E and I in order to render the racket as
D I E. Many dissidents, including Jordan Peterson, are doing this. The word ‘die’ is apt because, as you know better than most, it is killing Western culture, which of course is the goal. Don’t use the enemy’s lingo I always say.

  5. Optics.. Things go wrong and you are all about the clown nose.. This is what happens when you let a political agenda overtake your organization.. A diversity officer is a troll, used to annoy other trolls.. Oh yaa, and we sort of fly planes as well when we are not redecorating..

Don’t blame the trolls.. You are serving both ends on a silver platter.. Corrupt is the word..

      1. “Stone chip? Bird strike?”

Windshield cracks just happen. The windshield is under mammoth stress to begin with, fronting airspeeds of up to ~600 mph and unbelievably low temperatures at altitude. Commercial aircraft windshields all have grids across them, a lot fancier than what most cars have for rear-window defrosters, keeping them heated – not only because it lessens stress in the glass, but because of them ‘pilot’ guys insisting on being able to see out, however fast Mother Nature feels like dumping freezing precipitation on their windows. So pretty severe thermal stress, on top of everything else the glass has to live-through.

That balloon that flew around the world is a good indicator of what’s involved. They did testing with all kinds of different windows, four small round ones of which they had around the top of their capsule; the capsule was pressurised, and once they got high enough in the atmosphere to get really cold, the windows routinely shattered. Finally they went with plexiglass, which worked just fine – but the balloon riders weren’t trying to look out those windows to land.
