Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I’m currently waiting for my order to come in with anticipation and excitement.
Playing my Jo… such an interesting instrument that really needs to be understood more as it’s incredibly versatile.
My banjo.
Has all the bells and whistles being a 6 string instrument… totally not been explored in it’s different functions.
Jojo: “[…] totally not been explored in it’s different functions”
Did you know banjos make dandy sledgehammers? Try it sometime when you are breaking some rocks out in the back 40.
Bonus! Canoeists on lonely backwoods creeks everywhere will thank you for exploring that function.
Give a listen to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones before you give up on what banjos can do:

And when our society finally realizes to whack off our useless politicians…
Is it racist to choose skin color for stretching a new skin?
Hmmm.
Being a 6 string adds more guitar features along with the neck clamp that changes tone pitch.
Drum base as well…
I wonder if I can sneak into a Powwow with my fancy drum?
Actually, I’ve made my own banjo and a guitar. I’ll be working on a dulcimer, next. I like to putter with wood. Can’t play either one for crap, though they do have a nice tone. The dulcimer is easier to play, so I’ve heard.
Just messin’ wid Jojo, Weyland. He brought up banjos. I had to get the Deliverance reference in there somehow.
P.S. to Jojo: Banjo possibilities are endless, eh?
I knew a guy long ago that sent his daughter to the royal Winnipeg ballet school . about 5 or 6 years later I asked about her. she was working on a cruise ship in part of the chorus if thats the right word for the support dancers. i said , not what she wanted but certainly a few steps up from the pole at the French Maid in Calgary .
Good on Tom.
I guess we can now call Ben… Shapir-Yo, yo?
“What would Ben do?”
Well … he is a Jew … like Christ … so I guess it’s OK to beseech Ben?
Is at #4 now. I like it.
I can’t watch someone with face tattoos and hog ring without reaching for the needle nose pliers to yank it out
Did you know that if you leave a banjo capo on your dashboard you can park in a handicapped space? OR
Banjos make great kindling for an accordion fire!
The rarest phrase in the English language: “That’s the banjo player’s Porche!”
There’s a million of them. (Yes, I do play a banjo.)
Good choice for topping off the week with Tom MacDonald. Get past the over the top exterior and listen to his music, and personal story, you will be glad and surprised at his candor and message.
Sir John A. is rocking in his grave.
Why did Shapiro cover the tear tattoos under his eye? it would have been right at home.
About 15 years ago here, on the Reader’s Tips thread, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones were “guests” a couple of times… a live performance somewhere, and they were excellent.
