    1. Women’s kickboxing used to be fun to watch, before they let men just walk up and KO them. Before that, they really had to wail on each other for a long time.

  1. If you hadn’t posted this story I could have gotten through the entire day without knowing that it was Super Bowl Sunday.

    Thanks. Thanks a lot.

  2. distracting? bloody right she’s distracting.
very energetic and engaging performer, skilled song writer, we all have our inspirations.
and that trick she pulled when her catalog got bought out from under her?
brilliant. ergo a seriously smart and tough businesswoman ‘all that and brains too’.

so when the Taylor Swift jealousy snark band wagon shows up y’all keep moving.

and the ‘taylor swift biden this biden that’ tome. when did that start and how many times *since* did she clearly send out the ‘biden signal’? hmmm?
p.s. it is necessary to cite a source for that one. personally lm convinced she WAAYYYYYY to smart to get dragged into that verbal jousting match mine field.
oh you ‘MAGAs’ would like to see that eh?
    choose your targets carefully.

pps if my sport fan tenant asks the game score thats my only interest.

    1. I look forward to a whole new lp of songs about preteen girls treated poorly by their pop Warner peewee Football league boyfriends.

Followed by an lp of songs about preteen girls dumping their 17yo boyfriends because they didn’t take the COVID shots.

Followed by an lp of songs about preteen girls who left home and lived on the streets rather than live at home with MAGA parents.

  3. Homo-erotic sports? No thanks. At least it’s not as bad as the MMA man-on-man-action…

  4. Superbowl. What’s that?

Superbow, Supercurtsy, Superswoon would be more like it. Beyond pathetic. And everyone who bought a ticket contributes to this lefty farce.

    Take a knee, everyone.

    1. It was an awesome game ! Went into overtime! Kanas City 26 – The 49 ers – 19 !
Sounds like you guys missed a good one!

      1. It was a good game. And worth the time. Who watches halftime?
Of course, some would have to warm up the tubes on the Emerson.

      2. The final score 25-22 sorry for my error! Patrick Mahomes was unbelievable in the 2nd half!

  5. The “Black National Anthem” came on my tv and I turned off the TV and completely turned off my cable box. My silent protest.

If football cannot celebrate E pluribus unem … then we’re lost

    1. I so wish I didn’t read the comments.
      ignorance is bliss.
I’m really starting to wonder if the brightest aren’t the one’s voting Liberal.
Who’s John Galt = Oh Well What Can You Do
Taylor getting engaged….. no her asking him tonight would be the icing on the cake.
      Sorry 🙂

  6. PGA Phoenix Open is brilliant. Nick Taylor is playing one of the best scramble games I’ve watched in years. Both him and Hoffman are on the 2nd playoff hole, both scrambling on in 2. Hoffman just missed his birdie putt… Nick to putt…drains it for another playoff WIN!!!

    1. Well, Nick might just have surplanted Swiftie as No. 1 Taylor, at least for an hour or two by winning the Phoenix Open in a playoff, but then social-network geeks wonder “what’s this thing called golf”?

      1. Yes, but he only made what she does in 15 minutes…although she doesnt have to wear all her clothes to work. For that, I am thankful for a dress code as part of golf etiquette.

  7. If you can find the 2023 Grand Final Australian Football League game, Collingwood vs Brisbane, you’ll never watch NFL again.

    1. I try and watch AFL when it’s on TSN or at least pvr the games so I can watch it later. The 2023 Grand Final was epic! I’m a St-Kilda fan so I have been suffering for years!

  8. Wow. The circus came to town for the Super Bowl halftime show. WTAHF? What are allllll those people doing, other than collecting an “appearance” check? Is this what passes for “art”?

Well … I guess the Super Bowl’s gone full urban …

    1. Now … rollerball rap? … but they appear to be singing the exact same song over and over with every new act under the Big Top. Is this just one long hip-hop ep tune? My Shazam is frozen … just keeps saying “this one’s tough” …

  9. Watched the first half, they showed Taylor Swift twice, and frankly the older woman with her (her Mom?) is more attractive.
The half time show was loud and flashy, starring a guy called “Usher” who’s apparently been a big star since 1995. Never heard of him, and won’t miss not seeing or hearing him again.
It costs $7 million American bucks for a 30 second commercial at this event.
F*** is our society decadent! I feel like a Roman in 470 AD.

    It’s a rainy.snowy day here, the S/B is a reasonable distraction.

    1. Doritos and circus … otherwise the same thing

Speaking of which … how can Lindt … a dime store candy afford a $7 mil. Super Bowl ad? Are margins THAT fat in cheap candy?

      1. Lindt is not cheap candy. Cheap tasting maybe. I haven’t had any in years, they always tasted like rotten milk to me, but I’d guess they’re at least $1 a truffle now.

  10. SuperBowl – a string of ads interrupted from time to time by a football game.

When a change of possession takes place, or a score is made, or a quarter ends or 2.00 minutes are left, you have about 2 min 30 sec to go to the bathroom, or pop some popcorn, or stretch your legs, maybe enough time to make love to your wife.

I mute the whole game. Watch it in silence and walk away during the ads and half-time entertainment (sic).

  11. That half time show would have been awesome.

    If it were 2008.

But the Cera/ve commercial is great.

    RNrn

  12. Taylor Swift admits that a year ago she didn’t know much about football, but since hooking up with Travis she’s become quite adept at running the naked bootleg. She’s also very proud of her legendary ‘tight end’ and hopes it lasts into the foreseeable future.

    1. Yup. Can’t wait for Taylor to get to where Brittany and others got to in their flaming bright careers.
Hell, they all make Madonna look like Karen Carpenter by contrast.
As for me, I will stick with Bonnie Raitt.

  13. I get Taylor as much as my parents got Led Zeppelin.. Not at all.. Talent is objective and fandom is a guilty pleasure.. Swift is a top notch halftime show and a piss poor mascot at the same time.. Divisive politics rules the day..

  14. I can’t believe how an organization can get so arrogant as not show their commercials to Canadians. And tomorrow, I’m going to go and shop for a “Made in USA” SUV??

    Ya, right!!

    1. Canadians don’t see the US commercials because Canadian companies (Bell) buy the distribution rights and then stuff their own commercials in to pay that price tag. Even the American channels get replaced by the Canadian feed during broadcast.
Same six commercials all the time.

Nick Taylor’s win was way more interesting to watch.

  15. Didn’t watch it. Bet a few bucks with a grid pool. Will watch the highlights over a couple of beer with golf buddies.

  16. Good game, as a Raiders fan, hoping for the 49ers, so close.

As for the 1/2 time show, I think I recognized ONE word through the whole thing. The one female guitarist – Gene Simmons called, he wants his costume and boots back………………….

  17. Well, I have a high opinion of Taylor Swift. She comes across as a decent and sensible person, and I certainly don’t think she’s the most beautiful woman in the world but she’s definitely good-looking. I bet she’d be excellent company. And even if she weren’t, she’s not likely to take my money or raise my taxes. Counts as a good neighbour.

So I never listen to any of her music, cause I figure, why lower my opinion for no good reason? I’ll just assume it’s fine.
