And The Budget Will Balance Itself

WHEE! The Liberal Govt announces a $40B deficit with $50B in debt servicing costs, or $95K a second!

@RealAndyLeeShow is following the shitshow so I don’t have to.

Budget 2024 includes $411 million to support healthcare for asylum claimants and refugees, along with $79 million improve immigration holding centres and $141 million for lodging for asylum seekers.

Meanwhile, $8 million is dedicated towards preventing migrant smuggling.

CBC gets an additional $42 million taxpayer-funded bump in the budget.

Catherine Swift;

It’s painful to listen to @cafreeland speak, but a necessary evil. Major capital gains tax increase pretends to be a wealth tax but actually will be imposed on any Cdns who have retirement savings & other investments. So most of us

“There are very few measures that are designed to increase capital investment and enhance labour productivity.” #cdnpoli #Budget2024 ~ Fred O’Riordan, economist

Hit me harder, daddy: … new controls and taxes on real estate to take effect in 2025. Measures to be detailed in “consultation” documents this summer include a tax on undeveloped property…

Tax and Spend. And spend and spend and spend.

I want a new country.

  1. Adam Smith said that there was a great deal of ruin in a nation.

After ten years of this psychopathic man-child and his hench-persons, I guess we’re going to find out just how much.

Here’s hoping we can survive another year.

  2. Does anyone really think the Cons can fix this mess?
Annual debt charges in 2015 were 26.6 billion.
That’s a debt that took many decades to accumulate.
Fckface and Blackface have almost doubled it in 8.5 years.
    That’s criminal malfeasance.

    1. Well, if your job and mission was to destroy a culture and a country, how would you do it?

  3. “The federal budget will increase the taxable portion of capital gains above $250,000 from half to two-thirds, which it says will only affect 0.1 per cent of Canadians, while raising nearly $20 billion in revenue over five years.”

It won’t raise $20 billion in revenue as those who are mobile will leave the country, and take their capital with them.

“The inclusion rate increases to 66%, up from 50%, on capital gains above $250,000 for individuals and on all capital gains for corporations and trusts. The change is expected to yield an additional $19.4 billion over four years.”

Again, It means that canada is hostile to investment when you tax all capital gains of corporations and trusts.

Guess how companies that build housing developments are structured? They have a trust that holds the land until it’s sold to the final buyer, which triggers a capital gain, which instead of being taxed at a value of 1/2, will now be taxed on the whole gain.

How about landlords? They often keep their rental properties in a trust (if they are smart) in order to protect the rest of their assets, if they ever decide they don’t want to be landlords any more, when they sell the property, they get taxed on 100% of their capital gain.

Oh, and as a reminder, corporations collect taxes on behalf of the government, and build it into their prices, which then also results in them charging G/HST on top of the amount set aside for corporate income taxes.

  4. Doesn’t look like they are learning anything about failed immigration policies.
    Useless bunch of ………….
Well I never voted for them or any of this mess.
And to be honest I hope those that did get a nasty wake up call.
Along with the bankers, and anyone else that’s been suckling off the trough feeders.
    Full blown corruption all around.
It’s going to get way worse before it ever gets better.

  5. Jughead at the NDP says he’s “not ready” to support this budget yet.
Pierre P. at the Conservatives said he won’t support it without axing the carbon tax.

Will they trigger what millions of Canadians actually want?
I’ll believe it when I see it… no way Jughead will nix his MP pension.

    No way.

    1. It’s not about pensions. It’s about Jughead extracting more politically from the Liberals which he can use in the next federal election to preserve the NDP from annihilation. Jughead doesn’t care about pensions; he’s a multimillionaire lawyer.

    2. Why would he support any of this budget when it’s poorly thought out, and will do more to stop the development of more housing than promote the construction of the same?

    3. Dippers can vote “NAY” with the confidence there will be no election as a result. The Bloc will save their bum-chum TurdHole and vote “YEA”.

  6. The Liberals and stupid as in the picture should be Tarred and Feathered! And sent to the Antarctic!
    Poor Canada is DONE!

  7. Always remember, this little imbecile would never have been elected without the media, carrying his water, nor would he have been re-elected.

And that includes so-called, conservative, hacks.

The goal is to destroy CANADA as founded, I’d suggest we’ve already crossed the Rubicon.

    This was always the goal

  8. Hey; when i said,”F**k Me!!”, I wasn’t asking the Gov’t to actually do it…

  9. theyre gonna look back at this as the point of no return. the accelerated pace of truedau’s spending was unsustainable so now its lit a wildfire and is going to continue.
because trudeau went to far down the slide to far into the real slippery area cant get back up even the slightest ridge called penalty.

hes done it, hes done us in.

  10. The only surprise is that Blackie and Twicthy Garden Gnome didn’t outright bribe their precious Mill class, or others, with monthly or quarterly cheques in the name of whatever.
Bribery is all they have left to offer.

  11. Just remember that after 8 years of poliviere someone like mark Carney will take over and finish the job. It’s so tiring.

  12. Hardly worth commenting any more. Prepare for rough sailing ahead. Civilizations led by historically ignorant imbeciles don’t have a gracious unwinding

  13. Ohhhhhhh mommmmaaaaaaa …

Y’all sound like you’ve lost your compassion for all those needy people of the world (and now Canadians). You have SO MUCH … and it’s just “not fair” that anyone in the world is less well-off than all you Evil “white” Canadians. Where’s your compassion? Now pay up! Get off your high horses. You didn’t build that … and so the government is giving away what THEY built … pay up because to those who so much is GIVEN … much is DEMANDED.

Seriously … that’s exactly how your supermajority leftist Canadians think.

  14. It’s just a tiny deficit . According to on economist oneCBC, barely a rounding error. Correct me if I am wrong, but in any year since 2015 I don’t believe that they were even close to achieving there expected budget goals. The economist also stated it isn’t much different on a debt to gdp ratio than the Mulroney/Chretian era. 23% interest anyone? But this time it will be different . And I am very afraid it is.

  15. There never was any intention to balance it . Trudope and his minions could care less whether or not this country goes the way of Venezuela. The main interest is total control of people and if not then they leave with big pensions and large offshore bank accounts . They have 0 fear off CDNs as we have shown our ingrained ability to bow and cower after every stupid law that has been passed . It’s the CDN way . We are ultra passive .
