54 Replies to “Prediction Time”

  1. My prediction, chronologically:
    – Poilievre gets elected with majority
    – Peter Mansbridge puts on his “serious” face (Peter Peoplesbridge?)
    – news filled with stories of single mothers at food banks
    – inflation spikes, after Freeheads budget really kicks in
    – unions strike all across country, cause they dont get 20% wage increase
    – cpc replaces Poilievre with O’Stoole, or trans equivalent

    1. The AB civil service folks opened union negotiations with 28% over 3 years.
Can’t imagine the fight on this front if the gov’t insists on limiting any increases to the actual rate of inflation lol…

I’ve been saying that if the Conservatives are elected, know for sure that at some point in the future the #Libranos will be forgiven by their eastern fellators and returned to power, so they can extract revenge on the western provinces of Canada yet again.

This is why, separation should go forward regardless of who is elected at the federal level.

      1. My preference would be to match any increases in the public sector to the increases in the private sector. We are all in this together.

    2. Or as one of my fave commenters here a few years ago said:
“I’m Peter Mansbridge and you’re not”.
Geebus, that cracked me up big time.

    3. Peter Mansbridge, a mall announcer from Saskatchewan discovered by the CBC. A grade 8 graduate who never dreamed what he has achieved courtesy of liberal governments. Sell your soul to achieve success, how pitiful

      1. Actually, the intercom announcer at the Churchill, Manitoba airport when he was “discovered”. The rest is herstory. Wendy Mesley to be exact, until he went over hill over dale.

  2. Peterson isn’t wrong. It is the poison pill business strategy for the hostile takeover. Yes, if there is an election, the Conservatives will win, and when they preach the austerity that they must, Trudeau, the leech will stand up sanctimoniously in the House, beat upon his chest, and declare how hard it is for Canadians and how much better things were under the tax and spend coalition. Just Incapable has no wisdom, but he does have an evil agenda.

    1. I disagree. I don’t believe the CPC will form the next government. This budget was in no way an election budget. The next year will be spent trying to find a defining incident to paint Pierre in an unacceptable light ,and if there isn’t one they will create one. Fully supported by the MSM ,of course. I do agree, should they be elected it is highly likely it will be a short reprieve. Expect promises of great riches and services for the masses as well as a great deal of fear mongering. As well there is a fairly high probability we could experience a major disruptive event.

  3. Speaking of serious trouble … I am STILL planning my CA exodus… yes, it’s taking more YEARS than I had anticipated … and now spiking interest rates have devalued my property by at least 15% if not 20% (based on local sales) … so I have to wait and pick my time.

AZ, ID, UT,MT, WY, TX … haven’t decided yet. It’s hard when a 4th generation Californian gets commied-out of his homeland.

    1. Kenji,
Do yourself a favor and pick one with no state income tax. Surely you have suffered enough.

Be forewarned, though. We have a popular bumper sticker here which reads as follows,
“Welcome to Wyoming. Now go home.”

      Just kidding, we welcome conservatives.

  4. I don’t think Canadians will relapse back to the Liberals as quick as history shows we normally do this time.
World events will take a bigger lead than domestic naval gazing.

    1. Aye red pop!

I think/pray that Pierre is made of better stuff than the riff raff pretending to run things now.

      I’m going with it.

  5. I agree with Peterson, if Trump wins, and if he wins the war against the three letter agencies, primarily CIA, FBI and NSA, then yes. That is a lot of “ifs”.

Canada is over no matter who is elected. This shithole is circling a bigger shithole, and never have a craven, selfish, cowardly populace deserved their fate more. Good riddance.

  6. TurdHole’s budget was designed precisely for that purpose. No one will be able to fix things without a lot of pain. Kanadian(sic) sheeple don’t have the intestinal fortitude or the intelligence not to run back to the Lieberals.

  7. I’ve seen that strategy employed here in Ontario time and time again. Liberals will just wait for their turn at the plate again which isn’t long…comfortable in the knowledge that your average Canadian isn’t exactly Mensa material and also suffer from short term memory loss not to mention shit disturbing unions and an uber Liberal SCOC who in my opinion are really the ones running the show these days. Long past are the days of ruling on present laws that are on the books they’re actually making them up as they go along.
Live long enough you begin to see a pattern.

    1. You say Liberals. Do you mean Liberals under Ndp banner or Liberals under the Progressive Conservative banner or Liberal Liberals? Last 20.years ain’t a stink of differences. Until the public sector unions are deranged and the civil service right sized to max 10% across the board; well I guess never

  8. In a democracy the right gets elected just long enough to spend their energy cleaning up some of the mess created by the left. Then the left gets elected. Slowly the country drifts.

    1. “In a democracy the right gets elected just long enough to spend their energy cleaning up some of the mess created by the left. Then the left gets elected. Slowly the country drifts.”

That’s exactly how I see it as well. The ‘Conservatives’ get elected once the ‘Liberals’ have screwed up the Canadian economy to the point where enough people are angry about it to want a change. The ‘Conservatives’ then make *most of* the tough choices necessary to fix things (they never have the guts to go all the way, of course) while the ‘Liberals’ moan and wail about how heartless they are in doing so. The economy begins to improve, but before a full recovery can be made the ‘Liberals’ claim all is well again and demand huge spending increases on new social programs, new government departments and increased immigration…they do some polling to find out what voters are wishing for (legalized drugs, PR voting, Universal Basic Income, free dental, free prescriptions, free daycare, etc, etc). IF it is in line with the ‘Liberal’ agenda (and only IF), they then push for that as well.

All of this happens approximately once every ten years, by my count. And the voters keep falling for it.

Then when the ‘Liberals’ win back power, they proceed to break most of their election promises while blaming the ‘Conservatives’ for not being able to keep them (eg: PR voting)…claiming that they inherited a huge new debt from the ‘Conservatives’ is one of their favorite go-to excuses. When the economy improves due to the actions that the ‘Conservatives’ took months or even years before ( in a country the size of Canada, changes to the economy take time to manifest), the ‘Liberals’ take credit for that improvement…and then begin to borrow and spend, print money, increase immigration hire more government workers just as they have always done.

After about ten years of this, the ‘Liberals’ have driven the Canadian economy into the ground and the angry voters defeat them at the polls and re-elect the ‘Conservatives’ to fix things. RINSE and REPEAT.

      1. allow me to interject as one who has watched this happen for 60 years.
        spot on.

its like nature has cycles? cicadas? seasons? sun spots?

same as Cdn politics. and allow me to add the faster conservatives are at fixing things the faster they are voted out and the more liberals can spend spend spend the longer they stay at the helm.

but this one, the TURDeau, the nation for the 1st time, CANNOT SUSTAIN the spending. cant even at least ‘match’ economies elsewhere. this bastard lit the f’ing fuse and no one has the smarts or time to snuff it out. the TURDeau destroyed Canaduh. and there is plenty of precedent for a single man the obliterate their own nation
right adolph? you got a big fan running things here channeling you:
        -censorshit up the wazoo
        -press bought off
        -support anti-Semites
        -euthanasia
-seize all firearms (well, had ta give them back to the cannon fodder headed east into the ice)
        -oh ya, early charisma and
-‘deal’ with a national ‘crisis’ aka burn down your own parliament bldg or turn a PEACEFUL truckers protest into an act of war
        -need l go on?

a fcukin nazi and communist (worst of both)

l was born the best time l could have been. late enough enjoy indoor plumbing and antibiotics but miss the demise. moat true considering this autistic was born in the golden age of computing. wanna draw a circle? here’s pi off the top of my head

this continent gonna be a very different place 200 years from now.

my only consolation, NO OTHER NATION DEFEATED US.

godam Canduhians DID IT TO THEMSELVES.

  9. And it’s always due to the pig stupid Canadian electorate that keep putting the destructive Liberal Party back in power , over and over and over again. It’s infuriating to watch.

  10. Normally I’d agree with this but these aren’t normal times.

Everything has to do with timing. I figure the odds are pretty good that the US is going to suffer another financial crisis before the end of Summer. If so it’s going to spread to other debtor nations which means that our current batch of incompetents are going to have to deal with it, which is fitting.

  11. First order of business: get rid of the CBC. Not hobble it, but get rid of it.
Second order of business (and much tougher) eliminate most of the federal civil service. Lots of positions wanting in the armed services, so no bitching please.
Third order of business: enact referendum requirements for relinquishing sovereignty to extra-national organizations like the UN, WEF, etc.
    Anything else?

    Good luck.

    1. “get rid of the CBC” This is my number one priority. It did not used to be as I used to be a big radio fan, but they have forgotten that they are there to serve the Canadian public, not the Liberal Party. The control of the media is helping to speed the demise of the country. The CBC adds nothing positive to our social fabric.

You will find no mention of this on the CPC website (despite the many promises to “defund the CBC” made in the past)….only a vague promise to ‘support’ all news media.

    2. Day 1, reduce federal employment to 2015 levels
Day 2, eliminate the Ministry of Climate Change, on the basis that the environment is a provincial responsibility
Day 3, eliminate Publc Health, as health care is the responsibility of the provincial governments
Day 4, open negotiations on changing the tax structure, so that matters of provincial responsibility are taxed at the provincial level, and matters of federal responsibilities are taxed at the federal level.
Day 5, Open the Employment Insurance to public and private firms in order to make sure that rates are competitive, and never again can the Minister of Finance steal from the fund.
Day 6, Start the process of winding down the ponzi scheme known as the Canada Pension Plan.
and on the seventh day, rest.

    3. l think the optics would appear and be best if the outfit was sold. all eqpt all bldgs any and all patents, copyrights, libraries. e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g just privatizing it like has happened so so many times before. oh look, we got cash out of it that should silence the critics. bonus is they dont have the friggin taxpayer paid soapbox anymore to complain and object on.

  12. This is Canada in a nutshell. The conservatives are occasionally permitted to sit in the driver’s seat but God help them if they attempt to steer. There is a Deep State in Canada, as well, don’t forget and they are in tighter control with less limitations than the US equivalent. The will of the public be damned.

      1. Take the top 25 corporations in Canada. Open source information, look at the Boards of Directors. A starting point

      2. I’m going to start booking a band with a Chinese girl singer in bars around Ottawa and call them “The Lauren Chen Elite”.

      3. Senior civil servants in particular. That’s where most of the legislation is written, all regulations and all policies are made. If you go to see a Minister about an issue, he or she directs you to the senior civil servant in charge.

    1. This is why I hope Poilievre has abandoned the concept of “incrementalism”. What we need is radical action on day one. Lay off at least 30% of the public service in the first budget. Cut CBC funding. Nuke the carbon tax. Day one.

If he was a conservative, that is exactly what he would do. Don’t hold your breath.

  13. Leave a big enough debt turd clogging the toilet bowl and its easy to blame the plumber for not fixing it.

  14. End Stage Kleptocracy.
They have run out of producers to steal from.
Now they start robbing each other.
Our Uni-Party ,all tell us how much they can “manage” their theft, better than the other guys.
And Can Ahh duh is done.
Here in the West,we have the last fragments of a work ethic, along with some vague perception of property rights and personal responsibility..
We have no choice but to separate our affairs from the Fools and Bandits who got us into this mess.
Liberal, NDP and Red Tory voters..Have continually and consistently rewarded liars and thieves.
I am sick of all of them.
The voters who have enabled the economic destruction of Confederated Canada are my enemies.
Of this I no longer have any doubt.
The West must Free itself,or be dragged down by these indebted losers.

  15. I don’t know if the media will be able to destroy Poilievre very quickly. They’ve already blown their load and look at the results.

    1. You overestimate the stupidity, laziness, and greed of the vast majority of Canadians.

      1. “You overestimate the stupidity, laziness, and greed of the vast majority of Canadians.”

As much as it pains me to admit that you are correct, I just can’t disagree.

We really DO get the government we deserve, don’t we?

  16. Dr Peterson’s analysis is not wrong. I will be doing the same thing and have been planning for years to leave Canada for the US and get my kids out of here and moved down there. However, the US may not survive this cataclysm. Where to then? What I know is that the Canada, which we all knew and loved, is done, finished. As if by order. It seems to have been the Liberal plan all along.

    1. It’s not easy to legally immigrate to the US unless you have at least a quarter million to invest in the US. Took me eight years. Good luck.

      1. I have dual citizenship for this very purpose. I have seen this developing for decades, unfortunately. I love Canada.

  17. The sad thing is that most Canadians are politically ignorant. They proudly claim “I’m not interested in politics.”

Right. Just feelings. And that’s why Canada will continue to be ruled by the Liberal puppet-masters in a few short years when their goldfish-like memories have completely forgotten about the disastrous damage to Canada from the LPC.

  18. For any political party to correct things in our country will take far more than the people will be willing to do. Canada is full of sheep that expect the government to do everything for them. As soon as it affects them in the slightest way, they will scream for change and the liberals will be back in to carry on with destroying the place to please them.
Even a lot of the more conservative leaning aren’t discerning enough to understand that the freebies they get from the government are costing them more than they can afford. Selfish interest has done irreversible damage to our country that no political party can overcome.
As much as I love blaming the government for our troubles, their actions are encouraged by the voters that can’t see beyond their own interests and without a change in people’s hearts, we are lost. There isn’t enough time or willingness to do what needs to be done.
It’s so sad because we have the most beautiful and wealthy country in the world, with some of the most incredible people, and it will soon be past the point of return.

  19. “You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
    ― Buckminster Fuller

Unfortunately there’s only three ways this will go.

    1) The continued system till we’re a Northern Venezuela.
    2) A peacefull breakup like the old Czechoslovakia,
    3) An Balkan style breakup (not so peacefull)
