14 thousand 1-ton bombs is 14 kilotons, just shy of Little Boy’s 15 kilotons that was used on Hiroshima.

  3. If Juthtin only travelled half way to Newfoundland, I could once again celebrate Canada’s Dominion Day.

  4. Re. The Maple Leaf Forever (and the Red Ensign)
Thank you. We still sang that song when I was in Elementary School.
Finally…..remembering a song and flag that I am still proud of.
One Dominion Day thought – “I was once willing to give my life for what I believed this country stood for. Now I am willing to give my life protecting my family from what this country has become.”

However, that is not the whole story. There is much here still that is worth living for, building up, and even dying for. There are still those who believe in freedom of the individual more than control by the State, despite the raging of the media, academia, and pundits. There are people like Tamara, the Coutts 4, and many readers here. There are children who still have hopes and dreams. There is a land more beautiful than any other. And there is a God who will reign supreme and bring all the lies to account.

  5. Kate – You’re the Best at what you do on this here!

The Maple Leaf forever, excellent, reminding everyone to take pride in Nationalism and Patriotism for every country and all the good things that make life meaningful.

Conjointly, for spotlighting the nastiness and evil in the dark places, absurdities and lunacy of government policies and leadership failures .

So says a humble, white, straight, Christian male of western European colonizer lineage……….

  6. And a Happy Canada Day to all you fine little animals!!!

As much as I loathe, despise, hate and detest Blackie, the Lisping Loser Liberal Leader, I have to grudgingly say good job for going to Newfoundland for the return of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment’s Unknown Soldier. And that’s all I got to say about Turdeau.

Being a ROC kinda guy, I moved to Gander, Nfld and then up to Goose Bay in Labrador. I found the people of Newfoundland to be quite accepting of us and treated us like family. They had a helluva lot of quirky things in their day to day life and my first Memorial Day on 1 July was a bit of a shock as nothing was about Canada Day. And then I learned about Beaumont-Hamel….you know, the stuff I never learned in history classes.

I’m thankful that my career path led me to experience the wonderful people of Newfoundland.
