    Weird … Odd … Strange …

Where’s the trans NHL Hockey player?

    1. Yes, all that is celebrated by some. But this drawing is pretty innocent. The moose, being the “passenger” behind the polar bear, is merely hanging on to the polar bear, lest he fall off the bike. As any kid (or adult, for that matter) who has ever ridden two-to-a-bike knows.

  2. Only Canada gets the doodle. Here in the states, we don’t get Randy the randy moose.

I don’t know how I’ll get through the day without him.

    1. “So unrealistic.
      Nobody fcks with polar bears…”

Remember the Coca-Cola ads they used to run at Christmas with the smiling polar bears?

      1. Yup. And they were sharing a Coke with penguins.

Undid a whole generation of kids’ 5th grade geography lessons.

  3. Well, the childishness is certainly at the right level. But I think I’ll choose to be ‘outraged’ at the utter insensitivity of the artist for portraying a smiling soon-to-be-extinct-because-of-AGW polar bear.

Oh yes … and why aren’t the helmets rainbow-hued?

    1. “Where’s the beaver?”

Good point. Google knows nothing about Canada if they can’t even get our national animal correct.

      1. Why no mosquito?

Blood sucking parasite seems more representative of parts of Canada today.

    2. My self-invented ‘Indian Guides’ Indian name was ‘Swims with Beaver’ … the other dads were not amused. No matter … I was

  4. This is an interesting take from google:

Today’s Doodle celebrates Canada Day, a day to celebrate all things Canada, including our breathtaking landscapes, our diversity, our culture, and of course our Canadian wildlife! Did you know that the polar bear, the Canada goose and the moose all hold a place in the history of Canadian currency, appearing on our $2 coin, on the $5 bill and on commemorative coins over the years?

Canada Day festivities are happening across the country – from vibrant parades and community barbecues to dazzling fireworks displays and live music performances. Cities and towns come alive with red and white decorations as many Canadians proudly display our national colours, sing O Canada and celebrate the place we call home.

Today is a day for Canadians to celebrate, but also to reflect on our country’s past, present and future. This includes reflecting on the work that needs to be done to move reconciliation forward with the Inuit, First Nations and Métis peoples who have inhabited this land for generations past and present. These rich histories, traditions, and contributions are woven into the core fabric of our communities. By celebrating the achievements and resilience of Indigenous Peoples, we can help foster a more inclusive future for everyone.

    Happy Canada Day 2024!

    1. That sounds like too much to do on a day off even if I am getting paid. I just stayed home (I live alone) and read a bit, had an extra nap, did laundry.

  5. Where is the beaver?.. The polar bear WWF symbol doesn’t belong at the front of the bike.. Google sucks..

  6. Yeah… no. I had to look at it for a while to make it child-safe. The double-entendre practically leaps off the screen and grabs you by the tie. Pretty typical for Groogle.

Forgot your /sarc/ tag there, Robert. ~:D

  7. Oh, come on now. The drawing is like the hearing room s*x scene from Oppenheimer. The naughty bits are nowhere near each other.

      1. I’m taking your word for it, never having been close enough to a moose to know otherwise.

        1. Good point, Tooner, if I may say so without undue freudianism. It looks like one could imagine a moose’s dork to look. If one were so inclined. Freely, and of one’s own free will. I do want to be careful about what I encourage here. We don’t want GYM wailing about how the moose molested him.
