  4. Yesterday my wife and I went out to lunch with my son. She had a simple garden salad with feta cheese. I had a half size order of vegetarian enchiladas with a side salad. My son had a loaded burger. We drank ice water. (Pop was $3.50 a can.) Total bill was $56.72. The place, which prepandemic was always packed full with people waiting, had only two of the fifteen other tables and booths occupied. We had to drive to where my son lives for an ultrasound scan (which was negative) for an hour and ten minutes. The cost of the gas for this trip was $90. So far my wife and I are still living frugally, debt free, below our means but it’s getting closer to when our income will not meet our expenses. I wonder how young people can possibly manage with a mortgage and car payments.

    I wonder if those 2 hatefacts are related? I guess not since the government has decreed it to be racism. I’m sure that we can look forward to more racism from the government to correct these hatefacts.

    1. It is the same for the indigenous peoples (so many First Nations). Including the Metis, their population is 2 million so about 5% of Canada’s population. Yet they are over-represented (at least in western Canada) in the prison system.
      My sister was fond of saying “Don’t do the crime, if you can’t do the time” and stop beating your wives, your sisters, your daughters. But others say that “this is their culture!”
      At 72, I just don’t care anymore.

    personally l believe ANY substance shown to be of medical therapeutic use should be very strictly controlled and legal under the strictest circumstances.

    that could include strict monitoring of the life span of EVERY dose from mfg to distribution to storage and final use. *figure out* how to do that BEFORE legalization lm all for it.

    otoh it delights me and l look forward to finding out how many naysayers DIED IN AGONY because of the OWN intransigence.
