Ha!

Guinness World Records- 57-year-old runs across Africa in record time while avoiding kidnap

A British-South African man has run the entire length of Africa in 301 days, breaking a 25-year-old world record.

Keith Boyd, 57, achieved the fastest journey from Cape Town to Cairo on foot, beating the previous record by 17 days.

It turned out to be Ethiopia where he encountered the most issues, describing that portion of the run as “hell on Earth”.

If not for the setbacks he experienced there, which include being assaulted and held at gunpoint, he could have completed the journey a few weeks earlier.

  1. sooooo basically as l would pronounce many times since the first including based on the experiences and stories from siblings who had been there, large swaths of Ahfricah remain a SHITHOLE.

  2. He should have followed an Ethiopian chicken – they’re good runners apparently…

  3. I’m surprised he made it out of South Africa. Someone I know was nearly beaten to death while hiking there.

  4. The headline suggests there is also a record for running across Africa while kidnapped.

  5. From the River to the Sea.
Nothing brings speed like the threat of death following closely on your heels.

This should be a new Olympic sport. Lets start with Gazaans sprinting across Israel, thereby bringing new meaning to “from the river to the s’ea.”

  6. He’s lucky to have made it out of Capetown without being kidnapped or shot. Or Johannesburg.

  7. Pedantic I know but he didn’t run “across” Africa. He ran the length of Africa.

    If only accuracy mattered anymore.
