    3. Historically, the less time the public has the opportunity to get to know the democrat candidate (in any race…not just president)…the better for the democrats. The same even held true with Biden…and Clinton. Biden hid in his basement. Clinton just stopped campaigning and her numbers remained stable as opposed to when she did campaign, and she lost ground.

      I expect a nobody to become the candidate…with little to no true investigative journalism to keep the candidate an enigma while concentrating on negative press towards Trump. The goal would be to present a non-controversial candidate and court the fence sitting, non-committal independents…as well as return the classical liberals to the fold.

      I’m still saying Harris gets 86’d and they bring in Josh Shapiro.

    4. I don’t know if you can get a presidential pardon for things you’ve yet to be charged with.
      And some of the Hunter Biden charges will be at the state level, not the federal level, so presidential pardon wouldn’t apply to all of it.

      I don’t care who takes Joe Biden’s place, I doubt any of that crew could win against DJTrump
      106 days to go, seems to be a time for some of those folks to be decisive, and the truly decisive guy is running as the Republican candidate.

        Not sure if that means they set things up so it goes to whoever the DNC puts up. Did they have this planned all along? Are they writing off states where they can’t change the ballot anymore?

    Of course, the Democrats are doing their best to maintain “dirty” voter rolls, encourage mail-in votong, ballot drop-off boxes in Democratic neighbourhoods, eliminate voter ID requirements and get ballots into the hands of illegal immigrants, etc. Will that be enough cheating room with Trump in landslide territory?

Amazingly, the stupid people of Delaware continued to reelect him to still more senate terms, and then, even more amazingly, they ran this absolute clown as Obama’s VP. And then of course, they ran him as president in 2020, even though it was clear to many that his cognitive decline had already begun. I still can’t get over that, a mystery that will never be solved.

    But it’s also the Democratic Party’s own doing. They should have faced Biden’s deterioration long ago, and not voted for him in the primary. Their refusal to face reality has bit them on the arse.

  35. Biden can “hand the reins” to anybody he wants, but that’s not how it works. He doesn’t get to anoint a successor. I’m not exactly sure how this will play out, but it’s up to the Dems to coalesce around her and nominate her at the convention. She’s not the nominee until that happens. Do it’s will need to fall in line first, and we haven’t heard anything from them yet.
    But the Dems are split right now. I don’t think the Clintons like Kamala and they still wield considerable influence. And it’s widely known that Dr. Jill hates her. Privately Joe will tell you he wanted Gretchen Whitmer as his VP, but promised James Clyburn he’d choose Kamala (and give a Supreme Court seat to a black woman) if Clyburn would deliver a DC primary win for Joe. Which he did….
    Whitmer and Newsom have 2028 Presidential aspirations of their own. It’ll be interesting to see how they walk this tightrope.

  36. In a perfect world, a new President / VP ticket will emerge at the convention in what the Democrats will proclaim is “the most transparent act of democracy the western world has ever seen”. This new team will head into the election, leading in the polls no doubt, with ” a renewed confidence” and we “continue to thank Joe Biden” for getting us “where we are today”. On election day, the House, Senate and Presidency will fall to the Republicans in what the democrats will refer to as unprecedented ballot stuffing. During the next four years DJT will restructure the western world. I did say in a perfect world. I still think Michelle O will lead the ticket to victory with Harris as VP only to drop out after 1 year leaving Kamala as the leader of the world’s strongest economy and military power – for now.

Had he resigned immediately Kamala could have appointed a VP in line with what the Party wanted. Joe, don’t play that game! Problem is Joe just put a bullseye on his back bigger than the one he stuck on Trump. To avoid an open convention Kamala has to become POTUS before November, if she doesn’t then evertything is on the table and let’s see who rises to the occasion. Will it be Newsom, Swalwell, Hilary, Big Mike, Pelosi, Pencil Neck, Schumer, the Penguin, Pocahontis, Bernie, the field is wide open. Interesting times ahead.

    The UK did this to Liz Truss and got Sunak as PM without bothering with an election either by the public or the Conservative party members.

    Now, the Dems can do the same by disposing of the primary process winner and selecting who they want. There is the added bonus of the new presidential candidate not having to make speeches and public appearances over the past year. Less exposure means fewer chances of gaffes and bad positions eroding support.

    For contrast, look at how opinion changed regarding Ron DeSantis from the start of the Republican primary process vs. afterwards.
