Embrace Hollywood!

“Democrats need to embrace Hollywood because this is where they need to come to learn how to tell a story.” – Michael Moore.

The Acolyte will not return for season two, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Lucasfilm has opted not to continue the Disney+ Star Wars series, which aired its season one finale last month.

The Leslye Headland-created show earned respectable reviews from critics, but was panned by audiences, with only 18 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. The show was review-bombed from some quarters who perceived it as “woke,” with certain corners of the internet going after Headland, who is a member of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as the series’ diverse group of actors.

“Honestly, I feel sad that people would think that if something were gay, that that would be bad,” Headland told THR in June. “It makes me feel sad that a bunch of people on the internet would somehow dismantle what I consider to be the most important piece of art that I’ve ever made.”

  1. “if something were gay, that that would be bad,”
heyyyyy acolyte, that isnt it. its when the sexuality of the characters is central to the storylines, and *always there in the background*. at which point youre targetting about the 18% viewership you get. whats the stat now? how many identify lgbtq13abciouftw crowd these days anyway?

    1. Leslye Headland Is operating on the mistaken belief that “The Gays” are better at art than the vast majority of heteronormative society. Listen up sweetie … your art is shit. It’s literally your fecal beliefs smeared all over the REAL art created by a man who was smart-enough, and rich-enough to schtupp Linda Rondstadt thru her HOTTEST-looking years. Up in that house on a hill in San Anselmo … nearby where he created an entire Artists “Factory” where none had existed before.

Your “art”? Spare me your Gay vanities.

You can’t even write a decent sequel to Lucas art

  2. People watch Star Wars for entertainment, not indoctrination.
Also, “art” is subjective. Make bad art, get bad reviews. Not everyone likes the same types of art either.

  3. To choose just one example:
Emanuel Jaques was raped and murdered by pedophile gays.
There are a lot of people that think Headland’s “important piece of art” is nothing short of the Grooming that got him raped and murdered.

Why not make gay movies for gay adults?
Why is she making gay movies for children?
    Groomer.

  4. I watched Mad Max: Furiosa and was impressed. It’s an example of how to have a strong female lead while not pandering to women and women’s causes.

    1. Yeah, how’d that do?

The truth that everyone on both sides is dancing around is that in general neither men nor women want to watch female action heroes. Like WWE Divas and gladiatrices, it’s an oddity that’s entertaining precisely for its rarity and its subversion. It’s a sideshow. When it becomes the main event, or we are expected to treat it as if it’s the main event, people tune out.

So true. They are just now acknowledging that the vast majority of people who go to action movies are men, just as the vast majority of people who pay to see romantic comedies are women. Play *to your audience*, fools; you are a business…start acting like it…

I watched it myself, two nights ago. I was all set to shut it off when the inevitable woke/PC/girlboss crap started, but it never happened…no 110 lb girl pummeling and tossing a 200 lb man around like he was a child, no women good/men bad messaging. I have to say, the movie, the special effects and the visuals were stunning (and I didn’t even recognize Hemsworth). Well worth watching. Perhaps Hollywood is starting to figure out that going woke=going broke?

  5. Was Headland a groomer before or after her working for Weinstein as his personal assistant? No one believes her Sgt Schultz act.

  6. Shoving your ideology down people’s throats in the problem.

  7. what I consider to be the most important piece of art that I’ve ever made

The Lego sex preferences study is going to go down in history with The Bell Curve and the Milgram experiment for understanding large-scale social movements.

  8. Nobody cares whether anyone is queer or not. It’s the incessant preaching and promotion of perversion. They will never get it, even with billions of dollars at stake.
