  1. Doctor’s kids usually become Doctors. Rocker’s kids become rockers … if you want to call this rock. I must say … that’s a most impressive and listenable tune. There’s space between the notes of Dweezel’s solo … timing and melody. And how can you not like a rock tune with a xylophone!?

OK … here’s my favorite rock tune featuring xylophone…

Including a lead xylophone solo!! … at 1:09 followed by disjointed discordant guitar fills that are super cool. Gotta love the Violent Femmes post punk new wave alternative … pop.

    1. The Femmes were always one of my favorites. Check out any Zappa tune with Ruth Underwood on vibes/marimba/xylophone. Mind blowing.

    2. Dweezil does as good as he can, but he ain’t Frank, nor can anyone play marimba like Ruth Underwood,

I love that they strive to keep Frank alive, though.

Frank, Ruth, Chad, George, and company, were the best Frank invention.

  2. Saw him in Denver in August, on the Roxy/Apostrophe 50th anniversary tour. Fantastic show, papa would be proud. He has serious chops and his reverence for Frank’s music is palpable.
