Supply Management Uber Alles

Blacklock’s- Lib Senators Protest Bloc Bill

Bill C-282 An Act To Amend The Department Of Foreign Affairs Act enshrines dairy, poultry and egg quotas as non-negotiable in any future trade negotiations. The one-page bill passed the Commons in 2023 by a vote of 262 to 51. Opponents numbered mainly Prairie Conservatives and two Liberal MPs, Chandra Arya (Nepean, Ont.) and Nathaniel Erskine-Smith (Beaches-East York, Ont.).

  1. The #Libranos are about to find out what “feeding the crocodiles in hopes you’ll be eaten last” means…
Note that 50% of bulk milk within tier 2 Canada is from Quebec, and we’re now ruled by the wishes of the PQ.

lol… well I suppose, until the AB/Sask. separation referendum anyway.

  2. Relax, the ndp will vote with liberals. Everybody’s job is safe.

    The Bill should be killed.

    Then supply management should follow.

  3. Imagine how big Canadian dairy, poultry and egg producers could be if they weren’t bound to supply management. Billions of dollars in international sales lost. More free trade with other countries because supply management is no longer an obstacle. Another failure of government policy. And Polievre has given no indication that he will change anything.
