1. “super diverse” Birmingham coming to a Canadian city near you. My daughter lives in Ottawa, and she tells me parts of downtown are headed that way quickly. I avoid Toronto, I am sure it has some lovely sections already.

   1. I still recall, 61 years ago, three of us…hitchhiking/train/busing east, heading towards Oz…….stayed a couple/few days in Karachi…cheap hotel, busy foot traffic central street.

      The entire time of our stay, almost right in front of the entrance…a young boy, T-shirt/underwear, laying immobile on the sidewalk……different places in the same small general area…..never saw him move.

      Felt bad, but nothing we could do about it, so like everyone else we stepped over him……never forgot it though.
