National Post- Alberta’s deputy premier slams ‘unified command’ snub by feds during Jasper wildfire
Committee members heard in earlier testimony from independent firefighter Kristopher Liivam that a convoy of 20 fire trucks was turned away from Jasper by Parks Canada officials on July 25, three days after the fire broke out.
Then there’s the fire hydrants with a non-standardized thread…
“I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”
You can’t blame a fire on global warming if there’s no fire.
When will people learn?
Western governments are all bloated incompetents, but in this one thing Canada stands above the rest. We have the most bloated, incompetent government of all.
The Feds couldn’t make a plug to fit a hobby-horse’s arse.
The national parks are AB’s version of Cuba’s Guantanamo Bay. Part of the province but no control of them. So rather than having to go to Ottawa to see how stupid all things are coming from that cesspool, in AB you can save the expense and just look across the fence into the parks.
Worth noting who runs all the reserves, too.
Time for Alberta to seize Banff and Jasper and provincialize it. Quebec could get away with it.
How you arseholes out west haven’t risen up is beyond me.

I learned EVERYTHING I needed to know about government fire and forestry “experts” during the devastating Yellowstone Fire in 1988. They gleefully LET IT ALL BURN DOWN. Why? Because FIRE is the only way to germinate all kinds of parasitic invasive species. And that … “fire is natural”.

I drove through Yellowstone about 10 years ago … and the remnant of the Park was disgusting. I’ll bet Teddy Roosevelt was spinning in his grave. He saved the Park … just to have the government … experts … utterly destroy it.
