  1. Oh look, how surprising and unfortunate. Gee, who could have seen this coming?

You can’t even say “are you kidding me?” anymore, because they’ve been using “The dog ate my homework” for nine freaking years now, covering -billions- of dollars in theft. No, they’re not kidding. They’re just plain deleting the evidence and saying “So what? What’cha gonna do?”

Reminds me strongly of the government of South Korea stealing everything and crashing the currency to cover the theft. The people starved and died while the Big Guys laughed. And yeah, that was -South- Korea, they’ve done it THREE TIMES since WWII. Now imagine N. Korea.

  2. So he transferred his own files and data on his government issue computer and predictably he screwed up and “accidentally” lost critical data and evidence. So what happened to his IT department that normally always does this for everyone else in government? No senior bureaucrat I ever knew did his own IT. I call bull crap.

  3. “When transferring files from my old computer to my new one, files were corrupted and emails were lost. I personally reported this.”

This is likely total crap. Firstly IMAP stores emails remotely. Secondly, backups. If he never backed up his emails for the entire time he had a computer, never let him work in the public service again. Only drug dealers and pedophiles use POP3 and no back-ups.

    1. I seem to recall that my email files aren’t stored in my computers memory … but in the memory of my email provider. I have replaced dead batteries in my laptops without ANY loss of data … esp. data stored OFF my laptop computer.

Yeah … “liked wiped with a cloth” … excuse?

  4. He is lying.

The only files that would be corrupted would be the ones being created in the new location. The original files would still exist.

A safe transfer protocol would recreate the file in the new location and then erase the file from the old location only after the checksum of the newly created file in the new location had been matched against the checksum of the file in the old location.

I started programming when I was 13. I still program at age 67. He is lying his collectivist a$$ off.

    1. Also, when you transfer files from an old computer to a new computer the transfer does not erase the old files. I do this all the time when I upgrade to a new laptop. Plus I back-up onto a server. Plus all my emails are on a remote server. Pretty standard stuff. Plus emails are from someone, to someone. They should be able to reconstruct his emails knowing his contact list. Unless their laptops also crashed.

The real question is “what did he delete”.

  5. The real question is who told the liar to erase the originals and fabricate the bovine excrement. Jail this weasel, but find out who gave the order to erase the files.

  6. Blacklocks is doing a fantastic job on this and so much more.

To save me buying a subscription, can I use Freedom of Information to get a shareable password from the government? Asking for a friend.

    1. Actually, that is true for outlook and gmail, or any other public mail server, but governments have their own domain, with their own email gateway.
You’d hope, though, that the feds’ IT department is well versed enough to safeguard emails the way public domains do.
Sometimes I wonder. Depends on how much DEI is in the department.

      1. The feds IT department may be competent, but they take orders from the fuhrer (Trudeau).

The department management has been purged so that only loyal followers of der fuhrer remain.

  7. They’re in a witness protection program along with Hillary Clinton’s deleted emails from the server she kept in her house.

  8. Perhaps he could take the computer to Hunter Biden’s laptop computer repairman John Paul Mac Isaac and have him take a look at it to see what exactly has happened.

Maybe he’ll pinky-swear to not look for nude videos while he’s at it too.

For the record, this MP’s excuse is not even microscopically believable. I work in construction, and know very well that the original emails if not kept on multiple remote servers, will still have copies on his computer if they haven’t been purposely destroyed, in order to be able to access them while in the office, or at the lake during summer.

Any thinking person already knows this.

All the #Libranos lie, all of them, all the time.
