The word “Jew” immediately triggers a variety of reactions depending on the person. To Christians, they are God’s people in some form or another, and seen as a people around which prophetic events are yet to take place.
But regardless one’s views, don’t people wonder why there are so many variants of peoples all claiming to be Jews? They are obviously unrelated to each other genetically, and belong to several ethnic groups. Of these, the Ashkenazi are the group most stereotypically shown as “a jew”. Many western jews would pass for any other “white” race. Many people find out late in life that they were jews – Madelaine Albright is an example of this.
Further jews are supposed to be descendants of the tribe of Judah, and as such would only account for roughly a twelfth of the descendants of Israel.
And Judah was a completely separate kingdom from Israel for centuries. It’s therefore weird that the various people groups collectively assembled under the term “Jew” wanted a nation named “Israel”. And weirder still that none of them actually wanted to go there (except when you consider that the modern state of Israel is in an inhospitable desert requiring billions in subsidies to maintain a small population in continual artificially slightly-above subsistence conditions), preferring to live in large metropolitan areas in western nations in Europe and America. Even today, it takes financial incentives to keep most of the residents in Israel, of which most are Ashkenazi.
The people of the left have always hated the people of the book because the left has always been afraid of a just and righteous God. They claim a belief in no “god” but they are scared of an eternity in hell. Anyone that has a faith in things unseen makes them slobber and try to swallow their tongue. If I was the person I would like to be, I would try to introduce those people to the God I know. He’s loving, omnipresent, and merciful.
The books of what we today call the “Old Testament” tells the tale of Balak, a ruler afraid of the encroaching children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So he turned to the prophet Balaam to curse them. But rather than cursing them, he blessed them and said there was nothing he could do to them because of their God.
In the end however, he advised Balak that if he wanted them to come to nothing he should turn them from that God.
What if that’s exactly what a future power did? What if they wrote a “New Testament” that fundamentally opposed everything taught in the books we’re now taught to call the “Old Testament”? What if they convinced the rulers of a few of the children of Abraham’s descendants to call themselves “Jews” and venerate a twisted perverse version of the “Old Testament” called the Talmud? There have been precedents, such as the people who claimed that they served the same God when Ezra was trying to rebuild what we’re told was the temple of the Lord.
Isn’t it odd that no faith actually truly venerates the “Old Testament”, and no one actually attempts to abide by its laws? “Jews” use Jesuitical logic to conclude the reverse of everything it says, Muslims give it honor but uphold the teachings of the Koran above it, and Christians believe that Jesus made it of no effect.
Would you be surprised to learn that the books of the “Old Testament” have been purposely and consistently mistranslated? And that if they weren’t, there’d be nothing whatsoever pointing to a future messiah?
