Benghazi

After Carney failed Thursday to paint Benghazi as a “Fox” story, after even MSNBC’s Morning Joe blasted that line of reasoning, perhaps…perhaps, we’ll get to the reason why four Americans were killed in Benghazi after every single credible indicator said, “Danger, Will Robinson, danger!”
But don’t count on it.
It’s politics, don’cha know.

Well, maybe it wasn’t a video

Allen West weighs in.

Ben Rhodes is hardly the “mastermind” behind this episode, but the email he sent out to a who’s who list of recipients is damning. Attkisson says, “White House officials copied on the Rhodes “goal” email include Press Secretary Jay Carney, then-Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer, then-White House Senior Advisor David Plouffe, then-White House Deputy Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri and Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest.

They lied.

And as we surmised at the time, it was General Ham who was the only one on the ball that night. Sec State Screech and Bam-Bam lied to the US public, lied to the military and left people to die knowing full well what was going on.

WENSTRUP: “As a military person, I am concerned that someone in the military would be advising that this was a demonstration. I would hope that our military leadership would be advising that this was a terrorist attack.”
HAM: “Again, sir, I think, you know, there was some preliminary discussion about, you know, maybe there was a demonstration. But I think at the command, I personally and I think the command very quickly got to the point that this was not a demonstration, this was a terrorist attack.”
WENSTRUP: “And you would have advised as such if asked. Would that be correct?”
HAM: “Well, and with General Dempsey and Secretary Panetta, that is the nature of the conversation we had, yes, sir.”

What We Really Need Is Democracy

Independent: Libya has plunged unnoticed into its worst political and economic crisis since the defeat of Gaddafi

A little under two years ago, Philip Hammond, the Defence Secretary, urged British businessmen to begin “packing their suitcases” and to fly to Libya to share in the reconstruction of the country and exploit an anticipated boom in natural resources.
Yet now Libya has almost entirely stopped producing oil as the government loses control of much of the country to militia fighters.
Mutinying security men have taken over oil ports on the Mediterranean and are seeking to sell crude oil on the black market. Ali Zeidan, Libya’s Prime Minister, has threatened to “bomb from the air and the sea” any oil tanker trying to pick up the illicit oil from the oil terminal guards, who are mostly former rebels who overthrew Muammar Gaddafi and have been on strike over low pay and alleged government corruption since July.

“Unnoticed”. Well, that’s one word for it.

12 Revisions….

The O’s budget doesn’t even get 12 revisions.

ABC News has obtained 12 different versions of the talking points that show they were extensively edited as they evolved from the drafts first written entirely by the CIA to the final version distributed to Congress and to U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice before she appeared on five talk shows the Sunday after that attack.

Benghazi Survivors Still Secret

Via Breitbart;

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, in an extensive interview with Fox News, alleged that the injured survivors of the Benghazi terror attack have been “told to be quiet” and feel they can’t come forward to tell their stories — as he urged the House to subpoena the administration for details if necessary. The South Carolina senator said he’s “had contact” with some of the survivors, calling their story “chilling.” He told Fox News that “the bottom line is they feel that they can’t come forth, they’ve been told to be quiet.”

Benghazi Survivors Still Secret

Six months in…

Republican lawmakers are threatening to subpoena U.S. survivors of the terrorist attack in Benghazi.
Exasperated GOP members say unless they get more answers from the White House, they will call on the survivors to testify before Congress, and might hold up President Obama’s nomination to replace the U.S. ambassador who was killed on Sept. 11, 2012 in Libya.
[…]
[R]eports that as many as 30 Americans may have been wounded in the attack — including seven treated at Walter Reed — have put Benghazi back in the spotlight.

Petraeus

Before anyone jumps the gun about Benghazi or other theories regarding Patraeus’ resignation, it should be noted that having a secret affair while involved in the CIA is a very big deal.
You understand that he has some very big things in his head that have to remain secret. Setting yourself up for blackmail is a bad thing. He had to come clean.

“I Won”

RIP, Benghazi Four, RIP.

One senior GOP Senate staffer told The Cable that State is only making the documents available for senators and committee staff to view today and tomorrow, which won’t actually allow the members to prepare for the hearing. Staffers for committee members are also not allowed to see the material.
“Funny since no member is in town,” the aide said. “The timing and limited access clearly demonstrates the administration cares more about playing politics with the tragedy than accepting responsibility.”

CINCPACFLT fires the torpedoes

Adm. James A. Lyons (Ret.), former Commander in Chief, Pacific Fleet, pulls no punches.

There is an urgent need for full disclosure of what has become the “Benghazi Betrayal and Cover-up.” The Obama national security team, including CIA, DNI and the Pentagon, apparently watched and listened to the assault on the U.S. consulate and cries for help but did nothing. If someone had described a fictional situation with a similar scenario and described our leadership ignoring the pleas for help, I would have said it was not realistic—not in my America – but I would have been proven wrong.

h/t Hot Air

Sen. Roberts on Benghazi

Senator Pat Roberts on the Benghazi event during Greta last night. Probably the most fair, but damning discussion I’ve seen. Here’s a former Marine asking the CINC to clear the air. He gets it. Politics matters, but this is more important. This is about the whether the trust between leadership and the pointy end of the spear is broken.
Previous to Roberts was Sen. McCain who reiterated the questions that Veterans, Nat.Guard, and Active members are asking. Anyone, anyone, who thinks these kind of questions from those willing to serve are a good thing needs their head examined.
Western society can not survive indifference from those who normally would be willing to kill and be killed; there are too many wolves.

“American Badasses”

Earn your Trident every day…

Not knowing exactly what was taking place, the two SEALs set up a defensive perimeter. Unfortunately Ambassador Stevens was already gravely injured, and Foreign Service officer, Sean Smith, was dead. However, due to their quick action and suppressive fire, twenty administrative personnel in the embassy were able to escape to safety. Eventually, these two courageous men were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers brought against them, an enemy force numbering between 100 to 200 attackers which came in two waves. But the stunning part of the story is that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty killed 60 of the attacking force. Once the compound was overrun, the attackers were incensed to discover that just two men had inflicted so much death and destruction.

Hillary and Barack: The 3am Failure

Larry Johnson, of No Quarter USA outlines with even more details, what happened on September 11 – 12:

The 3AM phone call came, but it was not at 3AM. The phone rang a little after 1600 Lima (that’s military jargon for local) in Washington, D.C. And Hillary Clinton, David Petraeus and Barack Obama failed to answer. Their failure facilitated the deaths of Americans. In my opinion, they have blood on their hands.
Now let’s turn to Barack Obama. One hour into the attack on the “Consulate,” he met with SecDef Panetta and General Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. I can understand not wanting to put an F-18 or F-16 for a bombing run. Those aircraft cannot do precision bombing in a dangerous close situation. But there reportedly was an AC-130H Spectre gunship available. That weapon would have made a difference.
How do I know? I have good friends who flew and commanded units flying those birds. The Spectre can shoot the testicle hairs off of a gnat and are particularly effective during night time ops. Tyrone Woods had identified the mortar. This means the mortar had fired more than one round. The mortar team had a spotter and were adjusting fire. Woods reportedly lasered the mortar. That means a Spectre could have come on scene and taken it out.
Obama refused to give the order to use that weapon. He was too worried about his own election and did not give a damn about the U.S. forces in danger. The phone was ringing and Barack refused to answer the call. As a result of his failure to act, two former Navy SEALS paid the ultimate price for his cowardice. Damn you Barack Obama. Damn you.
