There Goes The Narrative

FCPP;

In Positive Stories of Indian Residential Schools Must Also be Heard, Rubenstein and McCrae critically examine the current portrayal of the residential school system, which is often overwhelmingly negative. The authors argue that this narrative fails to acknowledge the positive experiences of many former students and the genuine intentions of those who worked within the system. While not dismissing the testimonies of abuse, the report emphasizes that these accounts do not represent the full spectrum of experiences at the schools.

The End of An Era

If the end of Tupperware is upon us, the marginal consumer must be really, really tapped out.

Tupperware Brands (TUP.N) is preparing to file for bankruptcy as soon as this week, Bloomberg News reported on Monday, citing people with knowledge of the plans.

The bankruptcy preparations follow protracted negotiations between Tupperware and its lenders over how to manage more than $700 million in debt, according to the report.

Wednesday On Turtle Island

Comrade Kamala’s America:  Media is victim blaming Trump.  Is Maoism coming to America?  Emasculation nation.  Paul Joseph Watson on the media’s reaction to the attempted Trump assassination.

Blackie’s Canada:  Indians and Eco-loons fight pipeline (CBC).  Won’t release the names of traitors.

Woke World:  Can a dachshund be genderfluid?  Heatwave anyone?  Queer ubermenschen.

Your morning meme.    And from the Bee.

The Reification of Net Zero

By the time farms are forced to go net zero, their net income statements will have beat them to that number anyway.

The University of Manitoba is getting $7.6 million in federal funds to study net-zero farming systems.

U of M researcher Martin Entz, best known for his work on organics, is the project lead.

“This is a huge amount of money. It’s certainly the largest grant that I’ve ever been involved in,” he said.

The team is also engaging with industry partners including Keystone Agricultural Producers, the National Farmers Union and Ducks Unlimited Canada to learn about sustainable agriculture initiatives…

Exploding pagers

Some folks in Lebanon had a bad day today. Apparently Israel figured out a way to make all their pagers blow up at the same time. Kinda like the Godfather taking out all the family’s enemies at the same time.

Also, this will clearly indicate whose involved with a certain organization.

Photos here.

Update (from Kate);

According to Arabic news: the H!zbollah pagers were imported 5 months ago and contained 20 grams of explosive PETN in the pager batteries, Mossad detonating them by increasing the temperature.

This does indeed sound like an Eli Cohen special.

Don’t F*ck With Florida

“It’s not in the best interest of our state or our nation to have the same federal agencies seeking to prosecute Donald Trump leading this investigation. … The public deserves to know the truth about how this assassination [attempt] came to be.”

Massive missed opportunity

Why aren’t the oilsands companies planning on using CO2 for enhanced oil recovery? This is a colossal missed opportunity. Massive. Yuge. Yes, with a Y, like Trump.

Here’s my attempt at a reel from the Lloydminster Heavy Oil Show. Hopefully more to come.

Oh, and it looks like Muskrat Falls wasn’t just going to bankrupt the Newfies, who quietly got a $5 billion bailout during COVID, but it looks like Nova Scotia, too, is getting bailed out.

Federal $500M bailout for Muskrat Falls power delays to keep N.S. rate hikes in check

But hey, Saskatchewan power rates can skyrocket as we have to get rid of our cheap coal – no problem!

And, since there’s plenty of public money for everything these days:

Energy minister says public money could help finance Alberta energy cleanup

And for something completely different – Quick Dick McDick harvests wheat.
