So… Paying Taxes Is Now Optional?

Blacklock’s- 95% Of Fines Unpaid

The Public Prosecution Service says it now collects only five percent of federal fines levied for tax avoidance and other offences.

Fines typically involved breaches of the Income Tax Act, the Fisheries Act, the Employment Insurance Act and other civil offences. MPs have complained unpaid fines represent two-tier justice.

No reason was given for the poor collection rate. The Prosecution Service Transition document called it a “problematic issue.”

Resurgence around Lloydminster, Drill, baby, drill!

With the Lloydminster Heavy Oil Show coming up next week on Sept. 11-12, it’s apt to point out there’s more drilling activity happening just outside of Lloyd than there has been in many years.

These surge of new drilling just within spitting distance of the upgrader is a new development. We haven’t seen that level of activity in that immediate area in probably 10 years, maybe more.  I don’t know if it is directly related to the multilateral drilling program, but I suspect it is. I hope to find out when I’m up in Lloyd.

Also, I’ll be on the Evan Bray Show on CJME/CKOM at 10 a.m. from in studio on Wednesday. I hope to ask callers what energy issues they’d like to see addressed in the upcoming election, and talking about the Lloydminster developments.

Tennessee Star has released The Nashville Manifesto;

On Tuesday, The Tennessee Star and Editor-in-Chief Michael Patrick Leahy released 90 pages of writings left by Covenant School killer Audrey Elizabeth Hale. The Covenant Killer’s 2023 Journal, which was handwritten by Hale between January and March of 2023, can be downloaded here.

The journal was legally obtained by The Star from a source familiar with the investigation in June 2024. It was recovered from Hale’s vehicle by officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), along with a spiral notebook, after her March 27, 2023 attack on the Covenant School, where she murdered three 9-year-old children and three adult staff members before she was killed by MNPD officers.

Showdown At Volkswagen

H/T to Melinda, I think this is a really big deal. If you read between the lines, a tipping point of union power vs ongoing Corporate viability has been passed, and he’s doing something about it. Come hell or high water.”

Volkswagen boss Oliver Blume, already battling slowing demand for electric cars and Chinese rivals, must now put aside his mantle as team player to tackle yet another tough opponent, Germany’s powerful labour unions.

The pressure on Europe’s top carmaker was laid bare this week when Volkswagen disclosed it was not only planning to scrap a 30-year old job security scheme but weighing the closure of plants in Germany.

Moritz Kronenberger, portfolio manager at Volkswagen shareholder Union Investment, dubs these the company’s “two holy cows”.

By taking them on, Blume sets a collision course with one of Germany’s mightiest stakeholder groups, the IG Metall union, whose main goal is to protect jobs and sites and safeguard the favourable working conditions in Europe’s biggest economy.

VW works council head Daniela Cavallo said unions would “fiercely resist” the plans, ruling out any factory closures on her watch. She said a staff meeting on Wednesday, where management will face workers, would be “very uncomfortable”.

Volkswagen has not closed a plant since 1988 when it shut its Westmoreland site in Pennsylvania. In July it said it might close an Audi factory in Brussels citing a sharp drop in demand for high-end electric cars.

Transgender Is A Stalking Horse For The Normalization Of Pedophilia

The predatory priests of Catholicism have migrated to the classroom.

Julie began identifying privately as non-binary in 2021, he start of Grade 5. She came out to her class at the beginning of 2022.

With the help of a teacher in York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB), her parents were kept in the dark about her use of “they/them” pronouns and a new masculinized name in the classroom. Only in June 2022 did her parents learn what was quietly going on in school. When they objected and asked school leaders to include them in conversations about their daughter, the school called the Children’s Aid Society (CAS), which investigated the family.

In December 2023, Julie detransitioned after realizing she’d been swept up in a social fad that overlooked her underlying mental health issues. Now, her family is raising the alarm about the power schools have to keep parents in the dark.
